Rule of Iron: Dark Age is a strategy game set in medieval Europe. You manage your realm in a turn-based campaign and command your armies in real-time battles.

Battle

Battles are fought at historical scale, with tens of thousands of soldiers on the field. Formation, terrain, morale and fatigue all affect the outcome, so a well-led army can defeat a larger one.

Campaign

The campaign is built around a simulated population. Soldiers are recruited from your provinces, settlements grow over time, and technology advances with history. When armies meet, the battlefield is generated from that exact location on the campaign map.

Modding

Dark Age supports modding, including custom campaigns and maps, new units, interface changes and AI tuning.
